International Pilgrimage
23 July to 11 August 2012
More info
*The pilgrimage is part of the formation program with regard to the preparation of the Sisters SCMM, Sisters PMY and Brothers CMM for their profession for life.
It is also about experiencing the international community to which the participants belong.*
From 23 to 26 July the Brothers and Sisters will attend workshops in Tilburg. Here, they will learn more about the life and work of St. Vincent de Paul and St. Louise de Marillac. This way they also get a better understanding of the history of both congregations.
On the 27th of July there will be a Bishop J. Zwijsen pilgrimage. The aim of this ‘journey through history’ is to get to know our Founder and his real concern for the poor people in the town of Tilburg, and to encourage the participants to follow his spirit in order to continue ‘the works of mercy’.
From 30 July to 11 August, the Brothers and Sisters will travell through France in the St. Vincent pilgrimage, to find out the steps, inspiration and the spirit of St. Vincent who became effectively ‘the Father of the poor’. The aim of this pilgrimage is also to deepen the motivation of becoming a Sister SCMM, a Sister PMY or a Brother CMM for the rest of their lives. A visit to Dax (place of birth of St. Vincent de Paul) and to Lourdes will be part of the pelgrimage.
