May 21, 2022 was a very joyful day for the brothers in the Stella Maris Community of Lembata. This community was the host for the celebration of the 25th anniversary of monastic life of several brothers, which was combined with the opening of the jubilee year (100 years) of the Congregation of the Brothers CMM working in Indonesia. Those who celebrated 25 years of monastic life are Br. Frans Kilat, Br. Januaryus Juma, Br. David Jeda, Br. Matias Hamsudin, and Br. Paul Paji Keban. The theme of the celebration of thanksgiving was “All Out of God’s Mercy.”
In his sermon, RD Philipus Sinyo Da Gomes as the main celebrant invited all the people present to always support the work of the CMM Brothers in Larantuka Diocese, especially in Lembata. “We must be grateful that in Tanah Lembata, there are good quality schools, not only in the academic field but also in the field of developing children’s faith. Hopefully, the work of the CMM Brothers, especially in the field of education, will always present the face of the Local Church of Larantuka Diocese and the face of the Universal Church which cares for the weak and poor.”
Father Sinyo congratulated the brothers who were celebrating 25 years of religious life. “May you remain faithful forever. Today’s event of faith happened solely because of God’s mercy.” Father Asterius Zangu Ate, CSsR, Pastor of the Parish of Fransiskus Assisi Lamahora expressed his appreciation to the Congregation of the Brothers CMM in the Province of Indonesia.
Br. Philipus Weridity, Provincial Superior of the Brothers CMM in Indonesia, invited all the people present to be grateful to God for the 25 years jubilee of five brothers and for the opening of the jubilee year of the Congregation of the Brothers CMM working in Indonesia. In the end of his speech he addressed the jubilee brothers: “We receive everything for free from God’s hands, so share this experience of God’s love for free with your community, family, colleagues, friends and everyone in life’s next journey. Always remember to persevere in prayer, be vigilant in association and faithful in fraternal life and apostolic work.”
