Kawambwa, Zambia – 16 August 2022.
On the morning of 16th of August, a groundbreaking ceremony was held at St. Mary’s skills development center carpentry section ground, in Kawambwa, Zambia. This event marked the beginning of the construction of two classes, an ablution block and renovation of the office block. The brothers, and also a representative from the sisters, some committee members and the Parish Priest Fr. Isaiah, congregated together at the carpentry grounds. The ceremony started with a prayer and blessing of the ground by the Parish Priest. Representatives from the brothers, sisters, priests (parish priest) and the chair of the committee took turns in breaking the ground.
Reopening of the carpentry school will enable students and the community around to benefit from a variety of activities expected to be offered in this place. The expected duration of the construction will be approximately four months. We look forward to the grand opening of these facilities hopefully by the end of this year.
St. Mary’s parish community is grateful for the support by the general board to look for funds. This will enable them to put up the necessary facilities needed for the training of young people interested in learning to acquire skills in carpentry and other technical fields.
