On Wednesday the 15th of August, 8 brothers CMM committed themselves for life in a colourful Eucharistic celebration held at Cardinal Otunga High School Mosocho.
Various parishes represented
The main celebrant for the Eucharist celebration was Rt. Rev. Bishop Joseph Mairura of Kisii Diocese, joined by the Rt Rev. Bishop Philip Anyolo of Homabay Diocese. Present in the Celebration were also the Vicar General of Kisii Diocese Rev. Fr. Jeremiah Nyakundi, Parish priests from all the 7 parishes where the 8 brothers who made their profession for life come from: Kisii town parish, Asumbi parish, Oyugis parish, Marani parish, Suneka Parish, Magwawa Parish and Nyabururu Parish.
Many attendees
The celebration was well attended by over 3,000 people coming from 7 different parishes in Kisii and Homabay Dioceses. A good number of priests, religious Sisters and brothers from different congregations, parents, family members and friends of the 8 Brothers were among the many Christians who turned up in big numbers to grace this special celebration.
Colourful celebration
It was a very colourful celebration with beautiful singing that was led by St. Pauls church choir from Oyugis assisted by a choir from Nyabururu parish. It is interesting to note that the celebration lasted almost 4 hours and yet people enjoyed every moment of it.
After the Eucharist celebration, there was the cutting of the cake followed by a meal prepared especially for the families of the newly professed and other invited guests. To crown the day the newly finally professed brothers were entertained with songs and dance as well as presented with some gifts.
Future
The Congregation is grateful for this new vitality and wishes these young brothers a meaningful and fruitful life, working together towards a good future for the people around them.
