Officially this feast is celebrated on January 31. The events were organized by a committee of students from the hostel and Brothers CMM. They came up with several activities, such as sports, vocal groups, a quiz, a spiritual tour to the park of St. Mary Mother of the Nations in Fodo, and also a recollection about St. John Don Bosco.
Brother Fransiskus Telaumbanua led the recollection, which was held at Simanere. He invited the students, coaches and employees of the hostel to joyfully live the six spirits of Saint John Don Bosco, which are: live your life for God, be a servant to others, pay attention to your attitude towards others, spend your money wisely, be humble, and carry your cross. The students of the hostel were enthusiastic and joyful to join all activities that were offered.
The celebration was highlighted with a Eucharistic Mass led by Father Vinsen (diocesan priest) in the garden of the hostel. The Brothers CMM, Sisters SCMM, the postulants of Sisters SCMM, students of Don Bosco hostel, students of St. Stephen hostel, students of St. Anna, parents, and members of the CMM youth movement Ambassadors of a Worldwide Brotherhood (WWB) joined the celebration. Father Vinsen invited the whole community to live up to the theme “Joyful Don Bosco Day! Fides, Scientia et Fraternitas”. The celebration ended with a festive meal and a joyful evening together.
