In July and August 2023, Ambassadors of a Worldwide Brotherhood (WWB) from several countries came together for an international meeting. Together they participated in the World Youth Days in Lisbon, Portugal. Experiences of the Ambassadors WWB from Tanzania:
Tanzania was represented by 6 Ambassadors, 2 of the expected ambassadors were not lucky to participate for reasons beyond our control. The Ambassadors from Tanzania who participated in the world youth day had different experiences which in a nutshell can be summarized as ‘Awesome!’
We had sufficient time to pray, to read scriptures and reflect on our lives and the readings. This was a quality time that we don’t get in our daily lives and it provided us an opportunity to be closer to God than ever. We also had time to visit Holy places like Lourdes, Fatima, and Dax. These visits brought us closer to Mary and St Vincent De Paul who are important figures in Catholic Church and also for the Brothers CMM.
We had the privilege to see pope Francis from a close distance, and received a strong and encouraging message that all the people are invited in the church, that Christ is here for all of us, and that we should not be afraid to be strong in Christ.
It was a good opportunity to meet other young people from different parts of the world, to learn from them, to share experiences, and to see what Ambassadors from other countries are doing. It was nice to see how kind the Brothers CMM are, how committed the Ambassadors are, and to experience how people who are so different in many ways can come together and be one.
The entire journey was so beautiful and wonderful that no words can sufficiently explain it. The Ambassadors from Tanzania are now stronger than before. They intend to remain true Ambassadors, and the WWB program will continue to prosper in Tanzania.
